HTH Runners is for anyone who’s interested in running – whether you’re a complete beginner or a regular runner,
we’d love to see you!
We believe that running is a powerful tool for making and building friendships; improving physical and mental wellbeing; and engaging with our community. Since HTH Runners was formed in August 2017 the group has helped many of us with all of these – our shared activities (and active WhatsApp group!) providing channels for mutual support and encouragement.
We meet for an informal session on Monday evenings from 7-8pm, on the far end of the St Leonards promenade adjacent to Grosvenor Gardens (where free parking is available). This isn’t a formal training session – we don’t have qualified coaches – but is suitable for all levels of running experience (or none!) The session is structured so we can all take part in the same activities together, with each individual working at the level appropriate to them. We meet all year round, in all weathers, and everyone is most welcome – it’s very relaxed and new people regularly come along, so why not pop down one evening and see for yourself?
We also take part in the Hastings parkrun, a free timed 5K event which takes place on the seafront at 9am every Saturday – participants are welcome to walk, jog or run the course. The event also starts at the far end of the St Leonards promenade, adjacent to Grosvenor Gardens. Around 200 people take part in the Hastings parkrun each week, and you’ll usually spot a few HTH Runners t-shirts out on the course!
